CLAM

CLAM

A new-classsic for Fritz Hansen

The clam is designed to provide light on the dining table. The diffused light offers a soft and intimate ambience, and you will never be blinded by the light source. The pendant holds its inspiration from seashells and their soft and translucent material. The two mouth-blown opal glass shades reveal a hidden pearl within – the light.

Both shells are a cutout section of two much larger mouth-blown globes. The shells meet on a horizontal line, like settled waters. Together, the two shells form a perfect balance. The top shell, being larger than the bottom, underlines the hierarchy of the lamp. The opal glass pendant is detailed with brass fittings for an elegant expression, emitting soft, ambient light from its light source within.

The height of the lowest shell can be adjusted to widen or minimise the gap between the two lampshades. When the lamp is completely closed, it shines a generally soft glow into the room, while opening the shells produces a stronger light. The pendant is designed so that its light doesn’t blind when you open it, making it the ideal fit for dining room lighting.

The shells are made from opal glass, ensuring a lovely, exclusive look paired with brass details. They are perfect for adding a lovely light and a touch of personality to your décor.
