ENTRÉ BALLERINA
The bench Entré offers more than what first meets the eye. At each end of the bench, there are two hidden drawers for storage. Underneath the main body, you can find a secret box for small treasures.
The Ballerina Series investigates iconic characteristics and the ability to differentiate oneself and stand out. We ask the question: What is it that makes us remember some things, while we forget others?
The Ballerina Series has a visual narrative. The atmosphere and focus that surrounds a ballerina on stage – a strong and elegant body moving with the utmost perfection. The intention is to create a relation between people and the furniture pieces, and to allow people to get carried away. We hope that by drawing from a recognizable reference, the pieces gain a relatable personality.
We intend to build a long-term relationship between piece and owner thus enabling people to keep and cherish furniture through generations.
The prima Ballerina Series consists of 3 pieces of furniture. The series is yet to be unfolded further.
The construction is cut to the bone. It seeks the fine balance between a ballerina’s graceful elegance and a sound and stable construction. A considered choice of material, and an in-depth understanding of the tectonics in joinery, has led to a harmony between the irrational and rational, between form and construction. Thereby the Ballerina series offers an experience of aesthetic details which, although they might not be crucial to the function, become the little details that fosters love.
